Amanda practices consumer rights law, specializing in student loans, foreclosure defense, credit reporting errors and debt collection defense.
She began her legal career practicing at a large firm representing powerful entities, before transitioning to the public interest sector at a legal services nonprofit. During this position, she found fighting for the underdog as a more rewarding experience. Amanda’s background aids her in repeatedly securing wins for individuals fighting against modern-day Goliaths, as she holds an unmatched understanding about the operations of large entities and their attorneys.
Amanda graduated cum laude from Tufts University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations. Following college, she attended Northwestern University of Law, graduating with a degree of Juris Doctor in 2004. She has been featured in Bloomberg BNA and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as a trusted source in her practice areas. Since 2013, she has been an active member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA), a nonprofit organization comprised of attorneys who represent victims of unethical business practices.
As one of the few law firms with a specialization in student loans, Amanda represents clients abroad and nationwide, tackling student debt collection cases, adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court and appealing administrative decisions made by the U.S. Department of Education. She additionally guides individuals and married couples through student loan repayment plans, consolidation, forgiveness, discharge in bankruptcy and settlement.
In order to serve the community around her, Amanda teaches a student loan workshop in Wisconsin titled “Student Loan 411/911” with the aim of educating and empowering participants to manage their student loans successfully.
